Giuseppe began working in the tourism industry in 1980. In 1983 he founded the Tourist Services S.r.l. with the brand name Rhegion Travel (from the Greek name for his hometown, Reggio Calabria) and began working as a Tour Operator, printing his first catalogues. He promotes and markets tourist packages in Calabria throughout Italy and abroad. In 1995, he launched the first charter flight from Moscow to Lamezia Terme and, in doing so, began to introduce Russian tourists to Calabrian specialties, from the unique sword-fishing techniques practiced in the Strait of Messina to Greek/Byzantine/Norman sightseeing tours. In the subsequent years, with the acquisition of two holiday villages in Sellia Marina, he moved from acting as an intermediary to actually managing holiday resorts. Elisabetta believed and shared in the creation of Rhegion Travel right from the word go. “This company is built from a great passion for travelling… every opportunity to travel was taken without a second thought.” Betty is now an active presence at Rhegion Travel, particularly since finishing her job in the Banking Sector. She brings to us priceless experience in administration and accountancy, as well as experience of managing holiday villages and a passion for marketing and advertising. “I have been to Morocco, Tunisia, Egypt, Libya, Zimbabwe, Botswana, South Africa, Kenya, Russia, Uzbekistan, Turkey, the United States, the Caribbean, Argentina… I have, of course, also visited many countries in Central and Eastern Europe, and am well-acquainted with Italy’s infinite beauty!”

Having worked for Rhegion Travel since 1994, Antonella is our expert, knowing everything about the choice of holidays and possessing an excellent memory. “I deal mainly with reservations, planning trips and honeymoons. I always try to give customers a sense of the experiences I have had whilst travelling: the frenzy of New York, Mexico’s ancient treasures, the sunny beaches of the Caribbean, the romantic streets of Andalusia and the fascinating unique personalities of Europe’s capital cities.” Favourite memory? “The enchantment in my daughter’s eyes when we went to Disneyland Paris!”

Simona is Rhegion Travel’s art expert. As such, she takes care of the advertising, marketing and graphic design of our products. With a great love for travelling, her motto is “Me, Myself and I” because she always chooses her travel companions carefully, and if in doubt… she’d rather travel alone! Her vast experience of so many different places allows her to give the best advice to customers looking for unusual and once in a lifetime travel opportunities. “My favourite travel destination? Asia, of course!” Simona is currently is our correspondent for Asia and Thailand.

Ilaria’s journey in the travel industry began at University. She joined Rhegion Travel having gained excellent experience working with Boscolo Hotels. She is entrusted with arranging important events. She is also involved in the management of our holiday resorts. Although our loyal customers continue to request her advice and ask after her, Ilaria’s attention is currently focused on Davide, her young son. Having worked in a consultancy firm in the financial services industry, Marilù joined the team at Rhegion Travel in May 2010. She is based in our Milan Office and largely deals with group bookings, as well as senior bookings, incoming groups in Calabria and Sicily and the company’s administration. Her first trip? “Since I was very young I often travelled with my family, but my favourite memory of travelling is of the first time I went to Ireland with my sisters. I was 12 years old and my sister Simona was 17… it was just the three of us, no group, no companion, just us! It was a wonderful experience which gave me my first taste of independence.” Marilù is a specialist in: Calabria, Sicily, Europe, Egypt, Morocco, Tunisia, California, New York, Florida, the Caribbean.

Stefania has been working for Rhegion Travel since April 2009. She studied Tourism at University, graduating at the same time as she began to work at Rheion Travel. An enthusiastic traveler herself, she follows travel trends and common travel requests through Facebook, special offers, newspapers, television programmes and the news, and responds promptly to all the customers requesting specific destinations. Her responsibilities include issuing air and train tickets, as well as arranging medium-haul journeys and cruises. Her most memorable journey? “At the age of 20, I travelled to the beautiful city of Madrid with my sister and a few friends. It was an emotional journey as we discovered the city’s culture and nightlife in complete freedom!”... Next trip? “To New York and Canada”

Nino joined Rhegion Travel in March 2010. He came to us from another tour operator and has been working in the tourism industry since 1989. He specializes in school groups and pilgrimages. A strange fact: as a student Nino never studied abroad, but he has since made up for it, visiting 227 places in 7 countries in just a few years. One of the best journeys? “Reggio Calabria / Bilbao / Fatima / Santiago de Compostela / Madrid / Saragozza / Reggio Calabria by coach with 30 students and a priest who celebrated mass on the coach.” Places visited: Italy, Barcelona, Tunisia, Majorca, Brussels, Paris, Costa Cruise, MSC Cruise, Festival.
